Thanks guys, This has been a dream car of mine for ages. When I bought it Jase forgot to mention that mods cost a packet! Ah wells 2 years later I am so thrilled to see it all coming together and we are finally scheduling more trips. Can't wait to meet those of you coming out on Sudnay.

Now I just need to take the keys back off him - giving him his own key was the worst mistake ever. I never get to drive my own car.

Well done mate, the shorty looks great, just needs to be white and it would remind me exactly of mine especially with the racks and awning etc

I look forward to catching up with you again and checking out those lights when you head up my way next.

                    Cheers,

The tank looks great. Nice neat fit.

What exhaust mods did you have to do and how does the exhaust sound now.

                          Cheers

Thanks for that. I thought that would be the problem with the sound.
I think I might have to address the exhaust issue first as it's such a quiet car at the moment.
65L is going to be a great improvement in range for you. The existing 69L is the only down fall of such a great 4X4.
                            Nice photos posted.

As for the sound.... I hate it, It's louder and V6's generally don't sound well when they are given an untuned sports type muffler. - It's OK at idle and light throttle, but sounds like a typical v6 Commodore with a tryhard P plater exhaust when under heavy throttle/load.

We were planning on doing a full (free flowing) exhaust system with extractors in the future, so that will be addressed at that stage and we will probably make it quieter...
I was looking at the same tank but have never quite got around to it. With the exhaust the LWB has the main muffler in front of the rear axle and a resonator behind while the SWB has them swapped so you now only have a resonator and the new hotdog type muffler. It looked to me that a LWB front muffler would fit in the SWB if the muffler inlet pipe was shortened but I never got any further than that.
