I fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATR P265/65R17 right after new vehicle delivery http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire...-265-65R17.htm. Though it is P not LT construction, so far it is going well, very quiet at high speed on tarmac and did not get damaged by sharp rocks when off-road, perhaps because the pressure was dropped.
I don't think it will last anywhere near 80k but when doing 5 wheel rotation every 10K, hopefully i'll get 50-60k out of them.
The weight of spare wheel with this tire fitted and pumped to 40psi is about 32-33kg.

Thanks for all the replies. I can get the 697's for about $245 which is a bit cheaper than the Scorpions. I'm now thinking I'll stick with 697's and perhaps take more care with rotations. I'll put the old 697's on the camper so that I'm running them on both car and camper.

I have Mickey T STZ on 18's. Slight noise at 60kph, nothing at 100Kph. Feel superb on the road after the Bridgestone. Look pretty smick too! Downside, have lost a bit millage over the HT's. Probably about an extra L/100 on the highway.

            Matt.

P.S. The other downside $400 per corner in 18's.

Have been pretty happy with Yokohama ATS, but they need to be rotated regularly to keep them quiet.

I went from Bridgstones to Mickey Thompson STZs and I now can hear wind noise and all sorts of noises I never heard before, so they are definitely quieter. With the Bridgstones I allways was looking for crook wheel bearings.
                  Cheers,

I've got MT STZ's also and they have been great but not fully tested off road (no great mud tracks).

I sort of think I should of chosen another tyre as these are not LT (or are they?). I would look for something slightly more aggressive MT ATZ or BFG A/T's.

I ran STZ's (now run ATZ P3's) for nearly 40,000km. They do get noisy if you dont rotate them.

I never usualy rotate tyres, but these I had too due to excessive noise.

Is anyone running the ATZ P3 ? I like the more aggressive look of them, but wonder what sort of noise they'd make.

That's what I was worried about with ATZ's. Also not sure if I could get them in 18".

Im am in a 265/70/17 (ATZ P3). I only had them on for 3 days before I had to fly out back to work.

No noise (that I can hear), but it is a diesel Challenger.

Ive had ATZ (orignal design) and MTZ, these are quieter than both.

ATZ 275/70/18 according to the MT website (Australian).

cheers. We've got a work ute (Triton dual cab) with P3's on it, but i hadn't driven it with anything else on it so had nothing to compare it to.

Thinking about them or something fairly aggressive for my next set on the Paj.
