V5M21 vs km145

Hi,
I am new hear but have had my SWB for along time. I have had a few km145's in its time and a new 4g54. But now have a ecotec supplying the killer wasps. What I really want to know is what is the legit difference between them? I am not bothered about body clearance or mounting just bolt patterns, length and ratios... does anyone have the answers? I can only find confusing half information...

I uploaded the manual transmission section of the Gen 1 service manual below, it refers to a V5MT1 instead of V5M21 but might be useful for you? Page 3 has the comparison between the two.
