HI Matt,
It is the side awning from Ironman - we don't have a rooftop tent- we use an Oztent RV4.
Yeah, ours was one of the first to have his tanks - he may have changed it a bit! There was a little room around the tank - we put the pipes and pump in there. You could fit the tow shank if you wanted to. BTW, you can get a receiver that attaches to the drawbar from Hayman Reese that the tow hitch sits in - called a hitch park receiver. Not sure what you're towing, but this might be an idea to get it out the way!
We only have it attached to the rails, but if you are going to carry near the max, go for the replacement legs that screw into the roof (your roof lining has to come off though). This is the strongest. We carry a Portabote or Hobie or spare jerry cans, Treds up there, but no tent or anything as heavy as your set up. We have had no probls on corrugations with ours though.
You can get a side mount for Maxtrax/Treds - Rhino make it. We also have two sets (four of them), but only carry one up there and one in the car, behind the rear seat and cargo barrier. Have the bag, so if it is dirty, just put it in there.
That bag Rhys has over the back wheel, we have one on our caravan. They are very handy for dirty stuff - not too dear (about $80) and you can get them on Ebay or at Supercheap. TJM or ARB. Dirty Gear Bag is the name. We also have their cable lock which slots into the track - you can lock stuff up this way.
Hope that helps a bit more - fire away anymore questions!
Cheers,
Sally
PS WE have the 2 inch lift as well - OME/Lovells. We still fit in carparks with the awning on and the side mount Treds. We don't leave the Treds on all the time - what is the point, they would just fade and get dirty!
