The 697's are a later version. Both are what you would call a non-aggressive A/T tyre. But both a great off road tyre.
MY17 Triton GLX Plus with Mitsubishi Canopy. Keeping it light and simple. 265/70/16 Nitto's, Bilstien shocks, Kings Springs front, Formula leafs rear, ECB nudge bar, Ligjtforce 170's, twin batteries and a ARB fridge.

Got the new tyres about 10 days ago, and wasted no time taking it out on the beach.

Hi guys. Well I'm up for some new 18" tyres on my NT. Both rears are worn badly. Fronts are ok but showing more wear than I'm happy with. I have 697 Dueller LT's all round. Rears did 9000kms on front before I moved to the rear and got another 2. Have done 16000kms on the rear. Fronts have also only done 16000. Mostly around town on bitumen but some dirt. Just did 3500klm trip with camper trailer with about 1500klm dirt. I know I've probably not done the best with rotations but 25000klms for the rear tyres and they have hardly any tread left and need replacing is very average. Not sure what I'll replace them with. I had Pirelli Scorpions on my previous GQ and the were great. Anyway just my feedback. Annoying that they have worn so quickly when you read of others getting more than twice the mileage.

Dude you must have poor wheel alignment. Toe in causes rapid rear wheel wear.

Maybe it is my wheel alignment. The first two tyres went on when I put in an Ultimate suspension kit. The guys had a bit of trouble due to some rust which from memory made the wheel alignment difficult but they said it was ok. Maybe not.

                    Bridgestone Dueler D697

on these tyres is there a difference between A/T and LT.

from what i have been reading they seem to be used interchangeably.

                    Please enlighten me.. :-)

AT is the tread pattern, LT is the construction. In the D697 and many other tyres that are AT tread pattern are available in both light truck construction (LT) and passenger construction (P). LT tyres carry more load and are much stronger and tougher than a passenger construction.

That is crazy! How did you do that? I stretched mine to 54,000.... I do drive quick and I live on a mountain but 113!

The tread depth on the D697s is not as deep as BFG, Coopers etc also.

Restrict wheel spin when (on and) off road.
I don't do what I would call "serious 4wding" only the more gentle tracks, with the odd dodgy one thrown in. Plus the odd long adventure desert trip.

Torn as to what to replace them with as I have been putting up with the noise to see what sort of km I could get before they wear out. The wear was good, but the noise is very bad once they get past 60,000km or so.

Note Can’t recommend Bob Jane Traralgon

Hi all, just letting you all know Bob Jane Traralgon do not & will not remove any Bash Plates if it impedes adjustment for Alignment..

This means I can no longer recommend them as can’t align my vehicle which means I also no longer purchase tyres from them..

The good news is Grant who use to be there is now at Tyrepower Traralgon & can will remove bash plates if needed 😎
And I’m happy to recommend them ✅

Yeah, I reckon that’s fair enough Gus. I’ve never heard of anyone refusing to do that before. I wouldn’t be going back either. Did they want to charge you extra, or just plain didn’t want to take them off ?

Incidentally however, I usually try to remember to remove the bash plates myself before taking it for anything to be done as the blokes with the rattle guns almost always seem to strip the thread for those bolts.

                              Cheers

Hi Geoff, Darren sold the franchise about 3 years ago I’ve still been using them with no issues they even looked after me with the new tyres when I purchased the 200 series..
Creighton’s TJM got the Upper Control Arms & fitted booked in with Bob Jane Traralgon & they only adjusted the Tow & told me they couldn’t remove the bash plates my mouth just about hit the ground they insisted it required a mechanic which I laughed at & then they wanted me to pay 😳 Well let’s just say I refused asked them to put back as was & went to TyerPower Traralgon.

I can say that I wrote an email to the new owner stating how disappointed I was with the service, (yes he was who I was dealing with while there), he rang me & said he understood but his hands were tired as it was Bob Jane policy across the group, which I said your kidding me, he said no that is fact.. 🤔

I have since spoken to Bob Jane Dealers who said that is definitely not the case so for me it rules them out & with it goes my recommendation..

                                Gus 😉
