1st slipping

Hi i read a thead saying that 1st gear is slipping in some 2002 models. my glx is having the same problem has anyone got a answer why this happens and hoe it could be fixed without replacing the gear box.
any info would really help.

If you have a manual gearbox and it's slipping the problem is the clutch, Or if you mean popping out of 1st gear in a manual then the gearbox has a fairly big problem and will need pulling to bits. If you have an auto then different story.
