Hey what's up guyz ?
I moved to the mountains a month ago. I climbed to 1150m altitude, but I still work on the coast.
I have 22 kms to go to work, so from 1150m to 0. A few months ago, I had changed discs and rear pads , standard disc and Protex Australia Ultra brake pads (
I wanted to have an Australian brand) .
At the very beginning I already realized that these pads do not brake very well ,
And I told myself that I would take something more performant next time, but given the negative elevation, I will have to replace them even if they are only 5 / 6000kms .
DBA SP/XP seems good , as Bendix , but what about others ? I need to buy from ebay AU , these pas are not available here , so of course duty fees addittional to the cost of parts and shipping .
My budget is around 150/170€ , without custom fees , i've seen Bremtec pads , but don't know if they're good for my application Pads is DB1464**
If you have a cool thing to offer, I'm interested
HAve a nice day

Lovely shorty, I have one as well.
as for the brakes, look into the bendix 4wd version, or go with brembo if you can find them. I currently have a set and my rig is currently in Turkey dealing with crazy elevation changes and no issues yet. I did 64km of elevation change on my last trip to put it into perspective over a distance of about 4500kms07 Mitsubishi Pajero Shorty - Currently rolling around... Parked in Armenia for the moment

So , i continue the story about my turbo (air leak , and smoke sent in cabin sometimes )
The problem was , turbo gasket broken in two piece
Parts arrived today from Partsouq

I started to look everywhere before starting to do the reassembly work, and I saw that on the exhaust manifold a nut was missing.
it was well hidden, (cylinder 1 the one below), it moved by hand, and trying to unscrew it with my fingers .......crack, broken ....in the cylinder head

Another thing that was not planned at all....hoping that the others don't break during disassembly .
To provide therefore a stud, nut, washer, and the joints of the exhaust manifloyd.....
Edit Few hours later ..........
IMG_20220319_171245.jpg
this is bad.....cylinder 4 , broken
So I drilled the broken stud on cylinder 1, it's a little shifted to the left the hole ......and I can't get it out

Helppp, I really don't want to break the extraction tool. How to make, drill bigger and re-tapping? The stud is 8x125

I use this tool, if you know something better, I'm interested

A bit of bastardry, but is there room behind the flange for a nut? If there is, you could use a 6 mm bolt, cut to size, and tighten it firmly. When it came time to remove the manifold again, you can simply keep tightening the bolt until it breaks and then replace i with another 6 mm bolt. You may have to use 2 washers to cover the original hole properly, but that is no big issue.

Have you tried heating the broken stud up and cooling it down a couple of times, to shrink it so it can turn? And lots of CRC or similar.
If that isn’t working a die grinder with a burr or Dremel to cut the stud out.
Take your time and when you remove most of the stud you will be left with just the thread that pulls out like a spring.Scooby, Scott, Scooter, Whatever.

I took the opportunity to change the air filter, which had only 13000 km, but very dirty, certainly due to the engine bay exhaust leak.

the oil filter should be a little cooler
