Default 45,000 Toyota recall including Prado, Landcruiser, Hilux, Kluger and

But there are no parts available for months.

I love this line from Toyota.

Toyota expects that replacing the fuel pump with a new one would take between 2 and 4 hours but dealers may need to keep cars for longer if they are busy.

We shouldn't be too cocky about this recall. At least Toyota are recalling their vehicles. What about Mitsubishi? OK - they don't have a lift pump in their tanks, but what about other issues? I don't know of any at present, but who knows?

Erad I think it's the cockiness of Toyota 4X4 drivers that gets up other drivers noses.

I find it extremely satisfying to read recalls for Toyota 4X4s.

Unbreakable Hilux.

What I have trouble understanding is that in the recall they say Quote: "So far, there are no cases of the fuel pump failing."
If there has been no failures how do they know there is a problem, I don't think Toyota would recall 45,000 vehicles for a part that has no cases of failure.

Don't forget in 2014 Toyota were fined $1.2 billion i n the USA for "sticky" accelerator pedals and floor mats.

In 2914, Toyota will think $1.2 million is chickenfeed. But I do agree with you regarding Toyo snobbishness. I have driven my friend's 80 series probably over 100000 km over the last 12 years or so, and give me a Pajero any day over a Toyota. Albeit most of the 100000 km has been towing a trailer, normally heavily loaded, but the thing drives like a truck and is gutless compared to my Pajeros.

I also enjoy the practice of Urine Extraction (taking the piss) out of Toyota owners....
