Yeah mate if you can find one with good service history and preferably country k's it won't matter if the k's are a bit higher. Mine still has all original ball joints(bar one)and bushes except the sway bar D bushes and they along with the one ball joint were only replaced because I was chasing a random clunk. Still has original steering rack, power steer pump, alternator etc. they hold up very well if treated properly.

Gen 2 but bottom end is basically the same, daughter's magna which is a 3.5 has nearly 400000 and I know of plenty of others near and over 400000 without huge dramas provided they have been serviced properly.

Those that skimp on servicing or using poor quality oil are the ones that normally fail.

Important things to look for are all the usual signs that it has been maintained properly, service books are first but also overall appearance and has it that looked after appearance.

A well maintained higher mileage vehicle is nearly always a better vehicle than a poorly maintained low mileage example.

But like anything in life appearances can be deceptive and buying secondhand you take your chances, normally vehicles are sold for a reason, often because someone has had a problem and lost faith in the vehicle.

Did your Paj start using a bit of oil at any stage ?
I'm at 180,000 and am topping up regularly, no leaks and mechanically sound.
Mitsubishi say this is normal as she ages.

Yes uses only a small amount between oil changes(every 10k)and yes I would consider that fairly normal. Approx 500-750ml. No blowing smoke or leaks.

My gen 2 390,000 like above would only use no more than 500ml no smoke at all.
