Hi how many ks can you except from the 3.5 ie in how long it will last. i been looking at a few and there is some nice ones but have about 180k + on them, they are mainly nm from 2000 to about 2002 ish. so probably not alot of ks for their age but would like to have the car for a while so would like to know how much life i can expect out of the 3.5

Mine has 335,000k on it and going strong.

Yeah mate if you can find one with good service history and preferably country k's it won't matter if the k's are a bit higher. Mine still has all original ball joints(bar one)and bushes except the sway bar D bushes and they along with the one ball joint were only replaced because I was chasing a random clunk. Gen 2 but bottom end is basically the same, daughter's magna which is a 3.5 has nearly 400000 and I know of plenty of others near and over 400000 without huge dramas provided they have been serviced properly.
Those that skimp on servicing or using poor quality oil are the ones that normally fail.
Important things to look for are all the usual signs that it has been maintained properly, service books are first but also overall appearance and has it that looked after appearance.
A well maintained higher mileage vehicle is nearly always a better vehicle than a poorly maintained low mileage example.

Yes uses only a small amount between oil changes(every 10k)and yes I would consider that fairly normal. Approx 500-750ml.
