    Camshaft similarities

    Hi guys

First time user, long time observer, just a quick question: are 6g72 3.0l heads the same as the 3.5l heads? And are the camshafts the same profile? The reason I ask is I just bought some second hand heads from a 3.5l engine for quite cheap(from a Pajero)and would like to put them on my 3.0l mk Triton engine and was wondering if it would work

    TIA

Assuming the heads are the same, such as bolt pattern and water jackets etc, I would CC The combustion bowl to ensure they are the same, as if the bowls were the same then there would be a great difference in compression ratio between a 3. & 3.5 lt engine, unlesss the pistons had bowls in them, the cam profile may be slight difference, most likely related to emissions tuning with less valve overlap
