Default 4WD feels wound up. Center Diff completely locked

Hi all
Before I start spending money willy nilly, I need some guidance please.

2WD - Drives fine

4WD went out with a clunk the other week....

4WD engaged, feels wound up. Won't roll unless its forced. Entire vehicle feels as though its under heavy load.

Engage Center Diff, vehicle locks in place and cannot be moved. Have to disengage 4wd and rock back and forth to release the driveline.

What do you experts think? Transfer case? Center diff?

I would be looking into the front diff first before jumping into the transfer box. Sounds like you may have blown the center.

Hi all.

Had it on the hoist..

Looks like something inside the transfer case has tried to escape. Cracked the casing in multiple places :/

Now there's ya problem, as they used to say on myth busters.
Hope you can get away with a s/h transfer case.
