Fuel Gauge & Foggies 2001 Chally

    Hi All,

I'm new here. Great forum with heaps of knowledge!

I recently got a 2001 Challenger and I was wondering if it was normal for the fuel gauge to maintain it's reading after engine off and key out?

In other words it doesn't drop to E.

Also, my Chally doesn't have fog lights, however, I was wondering if anyone knows if the wiring is all there and just a matter of getting fog lights and a switch.

    Cheers,

    Arthur

Hi Sasgamo, I've got a 2001 Challenger and my fuel gauge always drops back to zero when its switched off. Actually it's pretty slow on the uptake when I turn the ignition on, not minutes or anything but it crawls up to the level. Not sure on the fog light wiring though.

      hey mikedout,

      thanks for that.

I was wondering if it was the source of my flat battery the other day.

I do have amp draw of 15 milliamps though, but I don't think it's enough to make the battery flat overnight.

I will have to investigate further as to why it aint going down

      cheers

Hi I have an 05. On mine the guage stays up.

The wiring for the fog switch is behind the outermost blank out panel on the right of the dash. Flip it out and it's clipped on the back and is live. The plugs for the lights are on the radiator support behind the bumper.

Hi Sasgamo, It is important to remember they are fog lights and have different rules to driving lights. I'm on my 2nd Challenger. They are good gear. Cheers Mitsy.
