Ive driven in to the Lake Indoon camp site but never stayed there, looks like a nice spot. Were there many people using the Lake? Ive read conflicting reports about the water quality .

Stockyard Gully is a great place, we really enjoyed it there.

        Cheers

          Hi Shane
No rangers at all at caves did not get bogged however we did go round the outskirts of that same clay pan and found another good camp spot the only problem might be the wild bees but I guess if you leave their honey alone they will not be a problem
          Cheers

            Hi Envee
Heaps of people using the lake in fact heaps of people in the camp being the last long week end of this year as to the water quality it is very brackish but I only drink Scotch and beer and it did not seem to bother the Surf Cats and Kayaks and Canoeist on the water

Just got back from a four day trip including an overnighter at Lake Indoon.
First night was at Sandy Cape. Not many people camping- probably knew what was coming that night. Our favourite spot was occupied and unfortunately is now easier to access due to the sharp caprock track being covered by dumped gravel so we camped back towards the main camping area. Turned out to be a blessing as the area was pounded by rain and strong winds overnight and we had a little more shelter.
Headed over to the Stockyard Gully Cave and enjoyed a walk through the cave. A few cars in the carpark but didn't see anyone else. After we took the track to the north and Lake Indoon. Hardly anyone there and the lake almost glassed off in the late afternoon. Walked around the lake, enjoyed a good meal and a good night's sleep after the storm the previous night.
Next morning back to the coast and Coolimba's jetty. Called in to Leeman. How can you get diesel for 15c a litre cheaper up there than Perth prices?? Headed into town for the best fish and chips-$4 tray fed 4 adults.
Back to Sandy Cape and got our favourite camp spot right on the water. Great night eating and drinking and enjoying good company. Easy drive home next day. Life's good.
