    NX MMCS change iPod cable

Hi guys, I nearly a month into owning this Pajero, found a few things that need changing though. One is the input cable for the MMCS. It's a 2012 Exceed, so in the glovebox is a 30pin iPd connector and 3x RCA's.

I'd really love to change the 30 pin iPond connector to a newer lightning connector, is this possible ??

Is there really no USB input for this supposed higher end sound system ??

    Thanks !!

If you google 30 pin to lightning adapter brings up plenty like this https://www.ebay.com.au/i/192026078429?chn=ps

No usb, but to me what's worse is no bluetooth streaming to play music

I've tried those 30pin to lightning adapters with other music player like my Bose sounds docks and they don't work. I'll give one a try, still have a few laying around.

      Cheers

Worked for me. I stream from my IPhone 7 to the MMCS in my NT 2012 model, using the Bovee 1000 and the glovebox iPod cable.

Specs say it works with android too.
        Thanks !!

I use a Bluetooth adapter plugged into the glovebox iPod cable. Every now and then it has a a hiccup, and sometimes moving to the next track is pretty slow... but it’s by far the best solution for me, can leave phone in pocket.

The cheapie 30 pin Bluetooth adapters from eBay don’t work.

The Bovee does work. Every now and then it has a a hiccup, and sometimes moving to the next track is pretty slow... but it’s by far the best solution. Sound quality is good.

I'm sure a some stage the wife will be told the mmcs just died, and that I need a new head unit but this might give a bit more time

Thanks again, just checked it out, sounds like the only decent option.

What? You mean change out the head unit?

Actually you're wrong. it does work. Buy the genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning cable. Works perfect! Have been using one since we bought our Activ in 2015.

Thanks Steve. I have tried a couple of different non genuine 30 pint to Lightning converters but they didn't work. If this one definitely works then I guess it;'s a good answer.

                    Thanks

If you have access to an Apple Store you can buy one and return it “no questions asked” within a week. I tried one with my after market head unit connector and found it underwhelming.

I have a MY12 exceed and the genuine adapter has always worked, it even reads the tracks etc on Spotify like it did in iTunes. I did try early non genuine adapters when the iPhone 5 first came out but no luck with them back then.
I recently changed to a non genuine adapter as I was sick of taking my cover off to plug it in a it works just like the genuine one including reading track names on Spotify.. Cost $12 on eBay, I would post the link but the one I bought isn’t for sale by the seller anymore. Mine was a 30cm cable type which is much better than a short one.

                          Apologies for any confusion caused.

                            Spare adapter

In case anyone is looking for a genuine adapter I have a spare. I bought two by accident. They don’t sell the genuine ones in au anymore so I panicked and bought a spare
