Going from Plastic to Metal Petrol Jerry Cans?

If you use plastic (or metal for that matter) cans, when you fill the cans, ALWAYS put the can on the ground. Never fill the can whilst it is sitting in the back of the ute or inside a vehicel because a static electric charge can build up and zap at the fuel nozzle, causing a fire. Not so bad with diesel, but still possible. Always ground the can before filling.

What about standing on ground holding the jerry while pouring it into the vehicle? Not sure if that's grounded? Done it many times but thought id ask in case.
