Hi - New Perth Triton here

    Hi guys,

My name is Mike, live in Ballajura and as of friday night im a proud owner of an 03 Triton Dual Cab 4x4 Turbo Diesel, after trading in my granddad of a Nissan 720.

Its an 03 MK GLX - fleet car from Bunbury so the kms are a little high but its been well looked after and drives almost like a new car (altho technically going from a 26yr old 4x4 to a 6yr old 4x4 you'd expect that right?)

Don't know much about Mitsubishi's, but learning... im a bit of a car nut and own a couple Honda CRXs as well, been a DIY kind of a guy for some time.

Visited the Mitsi dealer in Morley today - got a couple prices on a service (car is under warranty so wanted to know whats available), a new key and ordered a new service book.
Im looking for an Owners Handbook for the 03 Dual Cab so if anyone has one they are willing to part with or could possibly post a book number for me - i'd really appreciate it.

Anyhow - nice to be here... cheers

    Mike

            Welcome Mike.

the height looks pretty standard to me from the pics.

What size motor does it have ? its not the 3.2 diesel is it ?

hi, no its just a 2.8.

fair enough regarding height - its kind of confusing as some Tritons 4x4s are much lower than this one...

might be seeing some doof doof lowered tritons lol.

Nice 4x4 mate, how do you find the maxxis tyres go for you? I find mine are a little noisy, but stick like glue to the road!

                Regards

                  Marc,

I think the Maxxis Bravos are awesome. Like you said they stick like glue to the road, but I never found the 750s on the old Nissan that noisy - mind you the Nissan was a louder car but really didn't find them as loud as some other tyres out there. Look forward to fitting the new wheels over the weekend

New wheels are on - looks pretty sweet and possibly 'JUST' within the guards or 'Just' outside of them... i can get some factory flares one day I will - which will allow tyre upgrade later on to 265s.

but thats later down the road.

Have spent a bit of time over the holidays fitting some parts onto the Triton.

Weather Shields were fitted sometime ago, but most recent additions are the Hella spotties and the TJM tube sidesteps.

I'd like to get a rollbar for it and a tonneau cover to suit but i like bargains and that might take a while.

here's the latest pic from yesterday of how it looks

                          Hi Mate,
Ive seen this Triton somewhere before. Oh yeah, I'm in Perth to, and have seen it on a local site. I've got an 05 gls v6. when i got it, it had the head down, bum up stance they all seem to have, i measured from the outer edge of the front wheel, to the guard, and it was 300mm, but i have the flares which sit down maybe 10mm. i assume it was at standard height.
I have the maxxis bravo's as well, and i think they are great. heaps quieter than the bighorns i had previously, but obviously not as good offroad. mine are 275/70/16, on the standard gls alloys, and they rub on the bottom edge of the bumper.
Im after a roll bar as well, and Im also a tight arse, I noticed there's not alot of mk triton bars around for sale, but plenty of later model ones going cheap. so i got one for $50.
It fits perfect onto the tray, but unfortunately the later model trays are higher, so the bar is shorter. so the bar on an mk sits below the roofline and looks dumb.
have to organise a mitsubishi run over here sometime.
