Default Check Engine Light Sluggish Fuel Injector Valve

I have a Pajero 2012 NW. About 50% of the time when I start my Pajero I find the orange check engine light is on. It only ever comes on at ignition (never comes on while driving) and stays on until the Pajero is turned off. I have had the error code read by a friend with the computer and it reads as sluggish fuel injector valve. Dealership cost of replacement valve is $1000. Do I need a new valve? Could this be a dirty valve? Is their a cleaner that you can put through that may fix this or am I needing to spend the $1000 and have it replaced.

I had a similar issue on my NW whereby it used to run on slightly after switching the engine off. Next start resulted in a CEL, after fitting a catch can the problem stopped.

Doubt a catch can will solve this issue.

Do you mean the suction control valve? What is the actual fault code? (It will likely be something like P0089)

I have spent a few days trying to get the error code read again but can't get onto the friend that had the computer sorry. This all started when the Pajero sat idol for a week.

I however don't think it was the suction control valve. I think the code read the fuel injector valve.

I have run this through 2 vehicles:

I like it.

Without knowing what fault code you have it might not fix anything but if there is crud in an injector it may clear it out.
It's around $20 per can, so inexpensive and worth a go imo.
