Coastal Taipan, Eastern Brown, Eastern Tiger, Death adder, Roughscale snake.

Other venomous snakes on the Island less dangerous are Red Belly, Pale Headed and the nocturnal Small Eyed snake.

There are others of no consequence Marsh Snake, Yellow face whip Snake, Golden Crown and Bandy Bandy both nocturnal.

Plus the many Pythons and Green Tree Snakes and the Nocturnal Brown Tree Snake
Last year we were sitting under the car awning by Eli creek about halfway between the the ocean and the bridge and watched a olive green eel or sea snake swim up Eli creek. I believe it came from the ocean. Do sea snakes lay eggs?
It actually went under the missus who was floating on a lilo, I have seen eels up near where u jump in the water but they are browner and much fatter?

        Apologies for the repeated post.....

All sea snakes have live born except for the Sea Krait that is not really a sea snake but is semi aquatic. It only feeds in the ocean but is equally at home on the land. As for the "olive green" I don't know of any that colour that are on the QLD coast.

Sea snakes are non aggressive and will happily swim with people. They do become a bit cranky in the mating season that is in winter.
