will the double sprocket work on a single sprocket 4m40?

timing chain on a friends 4m40 burst damaging the sprocket, we are only gettin the sprocket from the double chain version of the engine...

can we use the double row sprocket as a replacement with the single chain ?

yes. Get the double sprocket for the cam and the crank and the double chain.
