Maybe in the same location as the front diff ECU?

Thanks for the reply Kingmarz,

Good suggestion. Any idea where the front one is and what it looks like?

Most, if not all of the information you need can be found here: http://faq.out-club.ru/download/paje...0/index_M1.htm

Scroll down the left side until you find "70 - Component Locations". Click on that, it expands into another list. Second entry is "ECU": http://faq.out-club.ru/download/paje...0146600ENG.HTM

You're looking for the transfer ECU, Item K, which sits on top of the transmission tunnel in front of your shifters.

Gidday just thought id update. The ECU unit for the NT is apparently in the rear quarter panel. definitely not under the aircon control unit.

I managed to find a wiring loom that was "spare" in the rear quarter panel- see pictures. I rang Mitsubishi and the spare part guy told me the ECU unit part number is NM17132 and cost of $493.35. managed to get one from a wreckers, but it looks like the plug is slightly different. But they are sending the plug that came with it, so hopefully it will be easy to patch in.

I did the retro fit on the factory locker because I thought it would stronger and chaeper. but so far its been
- $600 for diff, compressor, dash switch and loom that goes under the car and connects the locker, compressor into the pre-existing factory plug
- $190 for axels
- $185 for the transfer ECU

Now waiting for the ECU to arrive in mail...

Was there any custom work required? I have the diff and axles already done. just need to do compressor and wiring but am on the road so tooling is an issue

No, no custom tooling. I was fortunate enough to have the use of a mates hoist early January when his workshop was quiet. I wouldn't want to be trying to do it off the ground. Good luck!

Got the ECU in the mail and the plug and wiring came with it, but the wiring have in the back quarter panel doesn't match. The unit I have came out of a challenger, and though it has the same part number, the wiring loom seems to be slightly different. Does anyone have a schedule for the different mitsubishi wires in the wiring loom? Im hoping to be able match the ones from my car with the challenger wires coming from the ECU.
