Weekend away before Christmas

SE Qld Fourimites Weekend

Time for another weekend trip away for the SE Qld fourmites. Last chance before the silly season hits!

The date:
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of December 2010

The location:
The Janowen 4WD Park. Approx 45kms from the top of the range off the Cunningham Hwy. Lots of 4 wheel driving options from scenic to extreme and good camping facilities.

The cost for the park and camping:
Camping is $7.50 per person per night for adults
4WDing is $25.00 for 5 days.
So this means that for 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 days 4wding the cost would be $55.00.

I have asked for the campsite down next to the creek to be held for us. This is the site further in from the flat area adjcent to the road with the building. The site is actually on the other side of the creek. Go in the second gate most easterly and folow the good road around parallel to the creek generally heading west.

The shop is not open Mon-Friday anymore so if you are going on Friday just go in and setup. The owner will most likley come and see you anyway or if you are in desperate need of shower tokens try the house next to the shop. The shop is some 2-3 kms past the 4wd park. We will need to sort out payments etc on Saturday morning.

Details of meeting points for those travelling on Friday afternoon/night and for those travelling on Saturday morning will be posted later.

We are almost definte maybes Kemsley. 90% sure, my parents arrive that weekend, but I think they will be in Sydney until the Tuesday.

Ben, I just rang up Janowen to book the capsite and dogs that are under control are ok. So looks like you will be able to bring them.
