Steering Wheel - Audio Controls Question.

    Hi,

I have an NS GLX with steering wheel audio controls. When I press the buttons to change stations it scans for stations rather than going to one of the 6 preset stations.

Is there a way to change this setup?

    Thanks,
    Brad.

I've tried every combination of button pushing, etc, that I can think of and can't see any way to get it to jump to the next preset. It should have a function to jump a preset with a quick push and scan with a long push. It works better with CDs though.

Not sure about the Paj but my last car (Mazda Tribute) did the same thing with the factory steering wheel buttons. Scanned frequencies rather than the pre set stations.

There was no way to change that so pretty sure it will be the same with the Paj.

Not very well thought out by the manufacturers.

This probably won't help but on the NT each press of the steering wheel controls jumps to the next preset, if you want it to scan you have to hold the button for 1/2 sec.

Phone control via steering wheel audio buttons on 2007 NS

Does anyone know if the additional buttons found on some later models that control the phone functions will work if plugged in on and NS 2007?

I have managed to get a full steering wheel loom and buttons as pictured and I am upgrading my head unit to a Kenwood DMX 8019DABS. I want to use the additional buttons to control phone functions on the Kenwood.

            Cheers,
            Todd

These are the controls for the bluetooth so you can talk on the phone and not get stung by the police. The left button is the setup button, middle button is the pickup button when a call comes in and the right button is to hang up.

I think they are an option that the dealer added at delivery for the phone bluetooth set up.

Those buttons came standard with my NW Pajero. Press the left button and a female voice should come over the radio saying "Setup" or something similar if you have bluetooth.

This thread has some part numbers that might be one.

                      erad and Herman4x4,
Thanks for the replies. Do you know if these present at the head unit, via the loom, like the other buttons on the left as different resistance levels? And they should therefore be available on the Kenwood as configurable buttons that can be assigned to call functions?
                      Cheers Todd

Sorry - I do not understand things electrical that well. I assume that since the bluetooth comes through my OEM radio (even when it is not turned on I think), it must have some wired connection to the radio as well.
