drivers door stay holder thingy

today i heard a cracking noise when i opened the drivers door and that little black bar that holds the door open is just flapping loose where it goes into the door,and thus no longer holding the door in any way.

has this happened to any others and was it hard to fix.

I did one for a mate, the hardest part was getting the old one out, as one side spun and just needed to be jammed in place while it was undone.

easy job, philips screwdriver 10mm socket and maybe a little screwdriver if you have manual windows.


two screws in the door grab, one in the door open lever. and little plastic push style clips. its off, window winder or unplug power windows.

Lift the panel up. go for it.

Peal clear plastic away, from top left corner and bottom left to get the old bits.

yeah i figured i would have to take the inner door panel off .
Did you buy a new one or get one from the wreckers.
