Interesting conversation. I asked a few questions about ecu remapping yesterday and the guy at Cooma Diesel said stay away from remaps if you value your motor, use a quality plug in chip?
My personal opinion from all my reading is ECU flash is going to be safer (as they are done under real load conditions on a dyno unlike one company in Sydney who reflashes with a generic flash) and that article seems to say that too. Any chip that just 'tricks' the engine into giving more fuel and boost is risking your motor and transmission.NW 2012 Pajero Exceed 3.2 Diesel, 18" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs offroad / Coopers Discoverers onroad; 66 Mustang Convertible; Suzuki M109R 1800, DR650 Dirt bike.

What's wrong with the original car???
Have just done 9,0000k's to outback NSW, Qld, NT. Ayer's Rock etc. etc. towing a full 'van and my NW still goes like stink.
Leave well enough alone.

There have been poor tunes out there too.
A poor tune plays up you cant exactly go back to factory on the fly?
a stock NW does goes well as you mentioned.

There are supercharger kits out there. 8 to 10 grand if you want more power.
I been down that path

I did the following:
Headers and exhaust
Hi flow cat
Cleaned Air flow meter
Always kept tyre pressures up
Watched how I drove
ran ecu with custom tune.
Naturally aspirated petrol doesnt have that low end torque so you need to be on the throttle more
to get into the power band and torque band. Thats where you use fuel . Just even cruising.
While turbo diesel can run soooo lean on cruising.
If you are to really wanting to stay petrol
Go straight to the supercharger. You get better fuel economy right away and more power.
I did that to my 120 v6 prado. Best thing I did for a petrol 4wd
all the stuff. I did above. By then I should of just supercharged the petrol pajero.
Lol and learn.
Hopefully this has given you insight and helps mate.
Just remember too though. Alot of it is false economy.
You would of bought that petrol pajero cheaper. Less headache running it too.
So it would take alot of kms before you even spend the same money as buying a Diesel pajero.

Cheers looks tidy... certain divorce but nice kit. [emoji2]
There’s a tuning company selling Chinese (probably a copy paste) supercharger kits locally... think I’d sooner chuck a bag of bolts in the inlet.
Anyone done it? How does the driveline hold up? Motor is same base as 3000GT so in theory should be capable.
