I'm thinking I should look at my intake manifold and clean it up, I haven't cleaned it since I bought the vehicle at 120000kms and it's done 170000 now, I also have no idea if its ever been cleaned before (I somehow doubt it).
Will cleaning my intake manifold improve my fuel economy? (if it's carboned up which I highly think it will be! - based on the fact that the best fuel economy I can get is about 10.8L/100k on the highway...)
Is it a hard job to do? Is it something you can do yourself or do you need specialised equipment?
Do you need to replace the gasket or can you re-use the old one if you don't damage it?
I'd like to clean the intake manifold and then install the resistor mod to disable the EGR valve.
