Has anybody got a stainless steel snorkel on their Gen 4 or know of someone that has? Keen to get one for mine but haven’t been able to find anyone else that has done it? Cheers

The issue with the gen 4 is the washer bottle - and then you also need to rout the intake into the guard area.... Stock intakes are OTR style so a hole needs to be cut into the inner skirt as well as the outer guard. TJM and Safari snorkels (and all others I have seen for gen 3 and 4) also need to move the airbox either forward or rearward about 20mm to allow room to get the pipework around the airbox - I cant imagine fitting a stainless snorkel to be much different to that.
Back to the washer bottle i it goes from the front of the guard almost to where the guard mounted side indicator is (or would be on models with them in the mirror) so this needs to be replaced and relocated - if you have headlight washers a bottle and suitable pump needs to allow for that as well
these issues are why gen 3 and 4 snorkels are more expensive than most others to buy and why they take considerably longer than many others to fit1994 NJ 3.0 now with a 2000NL 3.5 engine and driveline, 2.5 catback, 32" MT Deegan 38's, 1" body lift, front diff drop with front tension rods indexed and cranked an 3", 3" on the rear coils
*** retired to the big wrecking yard in the sky***
1998 NL 3.5 blisterside, running a 6g75 (3.8) with M90 supercharger at 14psi, 305.70.16's on -44 rims 3.5" suspension lift, Custom Bull bar, winch install, custom front control arms, NJ GLS flares and some camping gear in the back

Assuming you’re not planning on doing water crossings, is it really worth fitting a snorkel just for the supposed “cleaner, cooler air” up high? As for the cleaner aspect, can’t you just take a spare filter element on a trip and make sure you stay on top of cleaning it surely?
