    Wheel offset laws

I recently paid a visit to Bob Jane (Highpoint, Melbourne) to get new wheels and tyres fitted on my 1997 NK 3.5L auto.

Asked them to provide wheels with enough offset to bring the tyre flush with the wheel arch - mostly to help protect the body.

The guy told me that stock wheels are +10 offset and the ones he could get are 0 which is about as far as he could fit on my Pajero. Curious what he meant I searched the forums here and found some older posts talking about laws and regulation regarding track width changes.

Back in NZ there are similar laws which are mostly ignored and nobody (including cops) seem bothered. Is it a little different in Aus? Are they more likely to cause issues and get unwanted attention?
