Day out at the watagans. hill cimb short vid

    Hey Guys,

I had a chance to take a quick run up the watagans today with a few buds.

We stumbled onto some good climbs just off I think watagan road coming in from the Cooranbong end.

We decided to have a crack at the sedate one
It had been raining in the morning so everything was still a bit wet.

Here's a short vid of the Pajero and a mates triton taking it on.

My mate in the Prado was told he wasn't allowed after watching my attempt.

For the record, rear diff was locked and vlads mod was switched on.

In retrospect, I may have been better off with just the traction control and a bit more right foot.

I wanted to try and walk it up and see how it went.
I'm keen to try a bit more testing to compare the lock and TC.

and heres the vid as always.

    cheers Brett

I've been told this site is called 5 ways.
for a good look at the site check out the aussie four wheelers video '4x4 Challenge @ Five Ways Watagans' I've been told this site is called 5 ways.

I've also been told its called 5 hills.

    Take your pick I guess.

Looks to still be plenty of pressure in the tyres. How much did you air down? I am sure my old 80 Series with a rear diff lock would have walked up that climb up with ease. Although I do like the comfort factor of my NW VRX.

I was down to around the mid 20s .
The plan was just to drive some trails and not tackle anything like this.
We stumbled onto it on the way in and thought 'why not' .
It would have been nice to try a few more runs but some of the boys had family there, so we couldn't spend all day doing boy stuff.

Yeah, a bit more flex would have helped I reckon but fun was still had regardless.

the old Paj sure does like to lift a wheel. Most of the time though, you don't even notice it. Other times, you sure do

We have one. Not cheap. Don't ask how much as we have forgotten.

Neither of us like bling. No plastic "chrome" anywhere on our oops, her NS Pajero.

sorry guys, didn't spot the replies.

yes rjahwri, it has the rear diff lock. I had a weekend at Bylong 4x4 last week and got plenty of footage.

Here's the thread with a video showing it running through the wombat holes with diff lock and another with just traction control for a look at the difference.

I got the paj second hand and that was the grille on it.

A few have made comment on it but to be honest until someone said it was the sports variant, I didn't even realize.

It's a GL model but had a few extras thrown at it, air bags, diff lock, fogs and I guess the grille was part of one of those add ons.

That said, I do like it though.
