Sadly,i it ain't gonna happen. Oh that it would, but that is too much to expect.
    Careful what you wish for.

We have had "national" heavy vehicle laws across Australia since 2014, except they don't apply in WA, and only partially in NT.

And the rules are all they same, but with gazetted exceptions so all the differences that existed before still exist

That is the problem...states are too self absorbed to look at the big picture.

With more vans over 2500 kg & a tow ball weight over 180 kg,my Pajero nw ball weight capacity of 180 kg is not practical. Climax Suspension can upgrade my suspension but only for pajeros reg in nsw. Is there anyone in Vic that can upgrade suspension of the Pajero to increase ball weight and provide certification, like Climax Suspension? Regards Michael

You can get a GVM upgrade but keep in mind that the GCM (gross combination mass) does not change so your towing capacity decreases by the amount of the GVM increase.

I belive the GVM upgrades are only minimal anyway so maybe it's not the right car for you.

The Climax upgrade is only to increase the towball download from 180kg to 300kg on towing loads up to 3,000kg. It does not increase the axle load limit, GVM or GCM!
The kit comprises of replacement rear King coils, air bags and Bilstein shocker, and a certification placard!

The most likely limit to GVM you might easily get is 130kg so that is the total difference between the factory GVM and the combined front and rear axle load limits. This is easily justifiable and low risk/cost for certification, just by upgrading the suspension and doing actual load tests and measuring ride heights.
