Default New NT & maps

The navigational system in the NT is run by Whereis. Has anyone had experience with this system in the outback such as the Tanami Track & other areas if so how did it perform? If it is not a good system for o/back navigation/maps how can I run Hema or Ozi Explorer? I am not a GPS or Navigational wizard by any means any advice for outback maps etc...would be greatly appreciated.

I'm with you, how can we use different software thru our MMCS.
It does work in Perth WA on heavily used off road tracks, but only about 10% of where you are.

I very much you can run just any software on it. Would be happy to be proven wrong.

As to trusting it in a remote area.... no way. I barely trust it around Sydney.

I'm going to be using a netbook and Oziexplorer for my touring navigation coupled with traditional map and compass.
