Does anyone know where it may be possible to purchase some decent quality maps of Qld? with tracks overlaid? I think Sunmap have a 1:25k, but im not certain on what quality the maps go down to??? I would like some better than the random map i have now

Thanks for any help

I have the sunmap 1:25.000 maps- pretty good info but the areas they cover is seriously lacking.

I'll try and take a screen capture and post tonight- any particular area- better for you to visualise the info if the area is known

this is at 75% zoom so could be better- and a jpg capture so the quality is degraded, but gives you an idea

Thats actually pretty decent quality. For example, If you are heading west, and then turn around, do all the names of things rotate with the direction you are travelling?

Will sit pretty good with Ozi

The dodgy map i have at the moment for Cooloola doesnt rotate, so everything is upside down!!

I have to full Australia natmap series (1:250,000) in the vehicle but you can never have enough good maps.

Look at the scales we are talking the 1:25,000 series mapping is 10x better problem is it does not have the coverage of the whole of Australia.

in regard to turning around etc- these are raster maps- a image on the screen that is kept central as you move. I believe Ozi has a function that can rotate the maps (direction of travel is up) but cannot rotate the text so if you are driving south and the "image" is rotated to the direction of travel the text is upside down.

being a surveyor I don't have a problem getting my head around maps though so it doesn't bother me
