Default Newbie: fixing error code P0080

Hi new Pajero owner I have code showing with scan tool.
P0080- exhaust valve control solenoid

Where is this solenoid so I can inspect/ change it?

Judging by the rest of the faults I'm assuming it needs the intake cleaned from carbon?

Thanks

Your diagnostic tool is giving you incorrect information.
P0080 is for petrol engines with variable valve timing.
P0088 is for common rail diesel engines.

Obviously it is not possible to have 2 different engines fitted!

OJ.

Hi mate thanks for that, it's only a cheap one so no doubt it could be wrong. Probably the reason I couldn't find that part when searching google.

It's getting a shop to scan tomorrow to check the airbag light (pretty sure it needs to go to mitsubishi for this) but the car yard is paying so off to his mechanic first then onto mitsubishi if he has no luck.
