Default To chip or not.

From Overlander magazine.

"Some vehicle computers have a 'trace' that indicates the one-time presence of an engine enhancement 'chip' even if it has been removed."

Mitsubishi takes years and $$$ to deliver us with high performance vehicles
and longevity in drive train 5/10.
The motors these days are pushing out some great hp/kw/nm figures ...
Look back 10/20 yrs and our performance has even doubled (a lot to ask for, the little 4 cylinder motors even match motors of twice their size).
So it is always in our human nature to want more ... but realistically we should be content with what we have.

Just my opinion ;-)

Agree mate. I am happy with what I have. It's a 4X4 not a sports car.

Here are figures for a 186S I owned back in '67.

Capacity HP KW Torque.

186(3048) 145(108)@4600 184(249)@2200

very impressive for a Holden
If I recall the fuel was leaded and octane base rating
was alot better then now.
(I use to have a rally car and machined the head passed the dowels).

It's your car and if you want to modify it go for it!
Just be weary of the consequences. Common sense really.

Not sure how MM could program their ECU to detect a chip when almost all of them are achieving more power by fooling the ECU to not knowing it's there in the first place.

Could be done though.
