Default Relocating airbox/filter - possible?

Is it possible / feasible to remote mount the airbox or an aftermarket air cleaner up high somewhere, say on roof racks?
Looking to get a bit more room in the engine bay for dual battery set up and the spot where it is would be perfect.

what model/engine do you have? i run dual batteries and had no reason to relocate the air box even after cramming the 3.8 in there. (mine was a 2.5 TDI)

it is much easier to rearrange the passenger side area, i have a full size standard gen 2 second battery tray fitted in my sons diesel and still managed to fit in factory cruise and the glow plug solenoid with no issues. He can run 2 n70 zz's so a ton of room. Plenty of people with the petrols run one n 70 and one n50 on the passenger side by relocating the charcoal canister.

Plenty of options, can do an inline k&n filter and remove box altogether, just need a maf adaptor so you can run a round pipe either side of the maf sensor unit. Around $40 off ebay from memory.

Yours is on gas though ( re other thread) you might need to move your converter around to make it all fit.
