My experience in matters corporate tells me that a sponsorship is more about 'Brand Awareness'. That and (excuse my cynicism please) the relationship between the sponsoring senior executive/s and the sponsored entity is important also. Believe me, there's some rather lovely and exclusive perks for the decision makers in sports sponsorship.
I'll now go and wash my mouth out . . .

I tried to get some brake cylinders at Repco a year or 2 ago, and after ordering the wrong ones twice they then looked on their system and said their R&E Auto store uo the road had the correct one in stock (don't ask me why they couldn't tell me that 2 weeks prior).

Turns out NAPA (National Parts Association) is owned by GPC (Genuine Parts Company), who own Repco. So now all American owned.

I am surprised they are now the major sponsor. I didn't think being the sponsor of Bathurst would bring in that much business, but maybe I'm wrong there
Ironically is opposite for me.

Repco were the go to trade specialist 25 years ago then Bursons turned up in the area right when Repco had a management change and Bursons kicked goals ever since.

Even though the company I am with has an account at Repco I struggle to get trade prices there, and their service is woefull. And even when do manage to get a trade price (which is about half the retail price) Supercheap is still as cheap or cheaper.

Bearings - just bought a set of Timken "Ford" trailer bearings at local bearing supplier for less than Supercheap's chinese offering.

Recently priced a Dayco fan clutch at Supercheap for our NS 3.2. $399.95.

Checked online. $249.16 from a bricks and mortar store. Checked their reviews. Very very bad. Back to Supercheap with screenshot.

Price match done.

I have said for a few years now that Supercheap should remove both the Super and the Cheap from their name..

Agree-I never use supercheap for actual parts. I do buy oil, plugs etc there, but much preferred my local parts shop for most things, until they closed.

Funnily enough, BCF is the same. People think they're cheap, but I worked in a tackle shop who people thought was expensive and was shocked at their prices. Good sales at times, but way overpriced and service is literally non existent.
