I wonder how many water-in-fuel sensors have been ruined due to the wires being twisted or stressed while work is being done on the fuel filter.

The connector's mounting to the filter bracket is a mystery to many and the connector itself is hard to separate.

My solution is the re-mounting of the connector so it can be easily unclipped which gives access to the connector for straightforward separation.

DibbyDibbyDJ, is there a trick or technique to releasing the water-in-fuel sensor connector from the filter bracket on PB/PC Challenger & MN Triton ?

I used a ring spanner, (8,9 or 10mm I cannot remember the exact size), I just push the front side of the clip in towards the bracket whilst I push the ring spanner over the clip tail, until the diameter is compressed enough for the clip to be withdrawn.

DDDJ and OJ, your methods make sense. I've probably snookered myself a bit by mounting a secondary fuel filter on a bracket, inboard of the factory filter.
