    NG Wagon

    Hi All,

I thought I had better put a bit of a post together about my little beastie. Its a 1989 NG Superwagon and has had a few minor tweaks done to it since I purchased it in 2002. Its my second Pajero (first was a 1987 ND 4 cylinder petrol) and will be keeping it for a while yet.

Bought it stock with 155k on it. Now it has about 277k. Its not a daily driver so I try and keep it in pretty good condition.

    Whats been done:
    Dobinson coils and OME shocks
    1 inch body lift
ROH wheels with 32x11.5 BFG KM2 tyres
    Dual batteries
    ARB awning
    UHF
Kenwood head unit and Pioneer front speakers
    Safari snorkel
    Fridge slide
    Rear table
    TJM bullbar
    TJM roofrack
    Roolite driving lights
    Tint
    Long Ranger fuel tank (146L)
    Roof console
    Custom sliders
    HD towbar
    Removed rear swaybar
    AISIN manual hubs
    Rear storage system
    Reverse/camp light (not wired)
Hurricane headers and 2.25 inch exhaust

    DIY (to come)
Winch (I have on the dining room floor but not installed)
Telescopic reverse/camp light (installed but not wired)
Rear tailgate stay (to keep tailgate open. I have a bought a gen 2 stay to be fitted)
    Diff and gearbox breathers

    Wish list
Full length roof rack (prob rhino to sit on my rhino cross bars)
    Decent rear speakers

    Now for the pics...

Nice wagon, generally the most expensive part of the rear light setup is the light it self. I use a tent pole as my extension pole
If I agreed with you, then we would both be wrong

this thing is cleeeeaaaaan! very nice.

Im also in the process of putting together a rear work light so will keep you posted.

I have also been meaning to ask you, do you have any issues with your rhino racks coming loose? I have the same ones and on my last trip up to Hattah/Murray Sunset the L brackets kept sliding out from under the gutter rails?!

Thanks for the comments guys! Ill post some pics when the reverse light is done and Ill see if I can find a recent pic of when it was loaded up with kayaks and awning.

GSRSOL - Keep us updated on the rear light progress, mine is in the planning stage and have a fair idea of what I want to do (thanks to the rear light thread in this forum). Ill probably assemble it and purchase the light itself when I return from our Canada holiday in July/Aug. re the roofracks - no issues yet, but I have them on there pretty tight and the legs are digging into the gutters a bit. I have had them on there for about 18 months and have been to Byron Bay and Mudgee with the kayaks on the roof with no dramas.

cruisn06 - ebay can produce the goods from time to time! None on the aussie site at the moment though. You could try auto one or similar, as I bought my first bonnet protector there.

So a bit of an update, pics to follow...

I always watch ebay like a hawke and have never seen my latest purchases ever appear, well not to suit my car and never within a couple of hours drive from home.

Firstly, I bought a roof console 2 weeks ago. Brand new never installed still in its plastic. I have always wanted one but never really looked for one as I have had other priorities. $150. Bargain.

Secondly, I bought a Long Ranger long range tank yesterday for $325. A quote I got last Friday from TJM was $1200 for the tank only. I had no idea of the brand until I picked it up yesterday. 146L of capacity sounds much better than 92 (possibly less with the big dent in my factory tank).

I have to say the tank is one of my fav purchases besides the bullbar.

Now I just have to find the time to fit them both!

Next on the list is a rear work light (yes still on the list) and a simple rear drawer setup. Given both of those mods will be DIY, they are probably a while away!

was gonna get that console, but it ran across the width not down the center

yeah i saw your post, and was hesitant in buying it but realised your post was 4 days old, and you would have bought it already if you wanted it

i thought getting it to WA would have put you off, rather than its design. I like the old skool roof consoles!

                          The damage shots...

Some of you might recall my posts looking for rock slider recommendations. The irony is, the damage was done on an earth wall and earth step on a club training weekend. I really didnt expect damage, but hey, I have been lucky with this car over the last 10 years - my first visit to a panel beater (besides someone putting brake fluid on my roof a couple of years ago).

First picture shows an unsucessful second attempt at the wombat holes. Third attempt with a few more berries sees my left rear finding grip on a tree root, launching the car in the air before landing heavy on the drivers side doors against the earth wall, and sill landing where my front right tyre is currently positioned in the photo.

Damaged the sill, both drivers doors, pulled mudflap off and bent rear bar.

Getting everything sorted through insurance. $550 excess. Getting some custom rock sliders made up too to protect the sills during future excursions with the 4wd club.

Was a great weekend though, and even though I have been four wheel driving for 11 years I learned a LOT! These trainers are very patient people!

Yeah I'll see how good this steel fabricator is and might look into a new rear bar down the track. Yours looks the goods.
