Okay, this is going to sound ridiculous, but which way should I be turning the alternator adjustment bolt to tension up the belts ?

Apologies for reviving an old thread but I've lost the bolt that attaches the alternator adjuster bracket to the engine block. I guess I forgot to tighten it when I changed the belts a few months ago. I was hoping the bolt had dropped down and was sitting somewhere convenient, but there's no sign of it so I'll need to source a new one. Can anyone tell me what size thread it is?My friends call me Rob; you can call me .... Rob.
