Standard NS LWB Coil Springs ?

Does anyone have a set a standard NS LWB Coil springs they want to sell ??

Bear in mind nearer to the NSW Riverina would be convenient, but will look further afield.

I have a set of stock height NP DID springs and a set of 2" raised pedders from an NM petrol. These will fit an NS but the spring rates might be slightly different. I am in Wagga.

Thanks guys, wish you lived in Wagga, yeah me too.

Exactley what I'm after standard NS LWB springs, how much do you want for them ??

Sounds silly I know, I dont use my Pajero for "normal offroad" espacades, mainly as a tow vehicle for my boat, & family car.
My wife has MS & after measuring a Territory (my last car) the seats in the NS are about 2" higher than the Territory, wife has great difficulty getting inot & out of Pajero due to height. I'm looking at cutting a set of standard height springs down by 2" , to allow easier entry/exit from car . As I dont really go offraod expect ofr near boat ramps in the bush I dont think I'll need the extra height , I never got the Territory stuck on its guts.

Let mne know how much & well arrange some postage/freight.

Cutting springs is illegal, if that worries you. Why don't you give one of the maufacturers a ring (Kings, Lovells, EFS) and see if they can do you a set.
            Cheers, John.

Kings make a 2" lower set, but this will screw the rear camber up something shocking as you will run out of camber adjustment.

From what i understand becaue the Paj runs differnet lenght upper and lower arms, in up travel the camber changes is greater then on down travel.

I guess you could find out by puting enough load into the back and see what the overall camber change is. I have the manual on CD so i can look up total range of adjustment and see if you can pull it back

                      Wogs,

funny you should say that, cause I have seen a number of Pajeros on the road with large Vans & loads & the bum seems to be dragging , but it was noticeable that the rear wheels had large amounts of Neg camber.
This could bugger up my plan, already have sidesteps & it is a struggle for her to get in now.

Angry, changing the springs will definitely change the camber (been there done that) You'll need to check with a wheel aligner wether they can compensate for a lowered setup. Not sure how much adjustmant there is but I know there's quite a bit.

The ones you see dragging their bums and huge neg camber are simply not set up properly for towing. Should have a WDH to sit level.
                          Cheers, John.

Thanks Guys, I think I'll have to go & talk to the Wheel alignemnt guy in town.

I understand about the WDH but the Neg Camber was huge in a couple I've seen.

If NL springs are the same as NS I might yet take you up on that offer Psproule, I'm in Tatton.

Can you poost a pic of the standard spring ?? so I can have a look at one niot jamed under a Paj ??

Will see alignment guys at Reedys in town , who have you got to see yours about suspension Psproule ??

Angry. You can drop around one arvo and have a look and a chat if you like. Have two sets of springs sitting in the shed (stock and Pedders 2") and a set of Kings under the car. Neighbours NM has Lovells. I think the spring heights are the same from NP to NS but the rates might be slightly different. All the spring co manufacturers list the same springs from NP to NT. I'd doubt if you would notice much though. DID's have a different front spring to the petrols (more weight over the front). I'm fairly handy at changing them too - have done it about 5 times now.

I have had a terrible time finding a good wheel alligner in Wagga. I have tried several. I was using Pedders for a while once they changed hands and all was ok until the last couple of visits. Now the left rear appears to be running positive camber and has stuffed the tyre. Didn't get much out of them when I tried to discuss it and they now seem to be more interested in competing with Ultra Tune (next door) for car servicing business. I'll send you a PM for contact details. I am free in the PM from Thursday onwards.

But I have to mention that I don't think cutting springs is the way to go and it actually contravenes current VSI's which specifically ban spring cutting (this is pre VSI50). If they were detected in a pink-slip inspection it will be knocked back and it will also alter the spring rates. The front coils have a taper at the top and I think the rears have flats in them. As others have mentioned you can buy lowered springs for these from Kings - KCFL-34 for the front and KCRL-46 for the rear. If you call Autobarn or Repco in Wagga they seem to be able to source Kings at reasonable prices. Given how saggy my Kings are they may get even lower for you after a few thousand k's. Have you got side steps on it? Even my (fit and healthy) wife demanded these for ease of entry.

                              Pat
