Default Rear trunk space PAJERO NX

Good morning all,

As it is necessary to take care during this period of confinement, I decided to take advantage of my stagnation at home to make a storage structure for the Pajero IV.

As for the Pajero III, the structure must accommodate the cooler (quite large), as well as a maximum of storage. It must be scalable in order to be able to serve both weekends and during extended stays abroad, and, small news, must be equipped with a practical changing table ... baby obliges!

Reminder of what had been done in Pajero III.

Fortunately for me, I bought the necessary to make this arrangement a few days ago.
To know :
- lengths of 2.40m of aluminum tube in 24x24mm.
- tube connectors.
- plywood sheets.
- screws.
- full opening slides that can support up to 45kg.

So here in pictures the results of this sunny afternoon:

Rib measurement, cuts and assembly of aluminum tubes for the structure.

Love the nice deep drawers. Enough space for two babies in there.

Good set up.
How have you secured the unit to the floor?

Default Rear trunk space

Very nice design. Fridge slide looks good and I love the "rattle free" draw handles.

The structure is not yet fixed to the ground. I will use the original trunk fasteners.

It remains to be seen how I access the trunk under the floor ... in reflection!

Not a great option, but as you would not be accesing that space all the time, you could open the braws with the back seat folded down, you could access the thurd row seat well?

Andrew

I also built drwers in my NW along with fridge slide. Ended up ditching them as they added extra weight, made it too bloody hard to access 3rd row well and also they waste a lot of valuable storage space. Although they look good and in theory should work well...they just dont work as well as a couple of heavy duty plastic tubs of different sizes. Horses for courses, naturally...
