Hi all, I've spent some time searching but so far can't find the info I'm chasing.
I replaced the stereo in my 2010 PB yesterday with a Sony double din unit, which has the ability to decipher the output from the factory steering wheel controls through reading the different resistance values.
I located the signal wires from the steering wheel in the smaller connector on the back of the original head unit, with a red and yellow stripe, and red and white stripe, and confirmed the resistance value changed with a multimeter when each button was pressed.
After soldering on the adapter for the head unit to these wires, they are no longer outputting different resistances when buttons are pressed. To make sure it wasn't the adapter that was faulty, I cut it off to the factory wiring and there is still no resistance change between the factory wiring (I confirmed there is continuity between the end of the adapter wiring and plug).
Has anyone had this happen before? Is there a fuse or something I may have tripped?
(The cruise control buttons are all functioning as they should, and I haven't noticed anything else that isn't working)
Cheers,
Jack
