Very good visual demonstration of physics, and this was at quite a low speed!
Same thing can happen inside the vehicle with unrestrained or inadequately restrained cargo but with much more serious implications.

Hope you are getting some of this rain Kingbrown.

Pajero handles okay with MOTOP Rooftop tent on top

            Hi all,
Thanks for the replies to this thread.
Interesting read old jack about the rooftop load. Our MOTOP rooftop tent held up good for now and we already had to make a maximum stop off road. To sleep a bit comfy together we opted for the 135cm wide one that weighs 63kg. Together with the Rhino platform is at max. It handles okay off road and besides some extra wind noise I do not notice any difference.

Maybe we will take the platform off and mount the rooftop tent directly on 3 cross bars onto the backbone that will safe around 20kg on top with the platform taken off replaced by bars as the tent can hold up to 30kg on it's bars they claim. Not sure yet, the gas struts are powerfull enough now but will degrade over time. We will carry spare struts anyway in the future...
