What about 2% biodiesel just for lubrication?

Anyone know what biodiesel does to the engine? Why does it void warranty? Just curious. (I have another diesel 4WD that will run on biodiesel, kerosene, fish&chip oil, or ordinary diesel. Designed that way. And yes, of course it's a Mitsubishi. Would I drive anything else??? Never tried it on anything but ordinary diesel, so curious to find out the effects if anyone knows.)

They used to say "no more than 10% in your engine"
Can't see no harm in it,
Used to make my own and run straight bio..
any more than 10% MIGHT I say MIGHT affect the way the computer handles the fuel input..

My son used to work for MMA and technical guy that sat next to him had jars of bio and contaminated fuels that they used in court cases defending warranty claims and they win most of them.

If you want lubrication, then a good quality diesel additive would suffice.
In respect for DIY diesel, may have been no problems for mechanical injector Diesel engines. In having CRD engines now, very very risky to use DIY diesel and using bio diesel, check with MMA for details on %.

That's what I was thinking of when I asked about the 2%. If only that document talked about the cons as well as the pros...

A very interesting document..it would be interesting if the study was updated to 2017 specs.
At present many diesel motors are designed on Euro 5 specs which is a whole new lot of hurt..DFP filters and pollution systems and ECU specs which would be tighter than a corset on a 1800's female stripper.
