    DIY bash plate NS pajero drawings

    these are the bash plates i made for my NS. self explanatory really, drawings and pictures tell the story.

    you will have to mark out your own bolt holes, in my experience that was a pain, i managed to get 4 right and the others i had to expand to have them fit. there is no sump drawing use the plastic one as a guide. when doing these things remember that bends give strength, so more is better, that why the OEM plate is pressed in funny bubbly shapes.

    i made mine in 3mm galvanised sheet. it seems strong enough i gave them a good work out on my recent vic high country trip. i whacked some big rocks there were no indentations except the cuts in the metal. if they were aluminium i would have ripped them apart.

    if you look at the plates in an end section (not in the drawing) intercooler sits a few cm above the sump guard. i did that on purpose as i didnt want the intercooler to take most of the damage. the fixings it has just dont seem strong enough to me. so the sump guard with me takes most of the hits, i think its fixings are a lot stronger.

    anywho that is it. i hope it helps someone.

    i forgot to add. where i had noted to cut off the tail pat of the trans guard that is because i dont think its needed. plates is already so heavy that you can barely lift it that just adds to the weight. i would just bend up towards the back cross bar on the car to achieve the 20mm raise as noted in my end elevation on the last page and cut off the last 160mm off the tail. that is what i will do when i get time. if you do decide you need it line it with rubber as mine was drumming against the body, and it may need some sort of clamp to fix it at the back.

        Looking good. Would the NS and NP intercooler guard be the same? If they are, do you mind if I use your cad drawings to get one made up?
        Thanks,
        Andrew.

                Hi dear all,
                I'm Giovanni, and i'm writing from Italy!
                I bought a NM LWB a few years ago and now, looking for the drawings of the protection plates, i found this fantastic forum.
                it's very interesting the idea of a section dedicated to "Do It Yourself Projects" ;
                in the (imho) best Italian forum (http://forum.fuoristrada.it/messages/board-topics.html) we haven't it!
                I've 1 question and 1 request:
                The plate drawed here are good also for the NM LWB LH A/T?
                if yes, is possible to have the dwg / dxf files to give to a friend with lasercutting cnc machine?

                Thankyou very much
