Smart Alternators are supposed to reduce fuel economy but they do so many other bad things to your vehicle if you want to run a 2nd battery or accessories. I...

No reason. Just want to learn what options are and to operate like a dumb old alternator.

lol just did.no change. multimeter off battery posts showed 14.15 volt charge before and after.

thats idle with aircon on and light on.

with aircon and light off both scenarios no difference.

i wonder if i do have a smart alternator?

I'm pretty sure its smart alternator if you could call them that, especially if black box on negative.
You need to try it with no extra draw, i'm pretty sure.

The lights & Air con, fan would probably make the alternator lift voltage output

I'm driving A Triton & its A dumb alternator, charges auxillary great, no trigger wire required for DCtoDC no black box on negative

              I like dumb alternators
