    Cant engage low range

have just bought a 2010 PB challenger and am not able to press the smaller gear stick down to engage low range. I have had the car in neutral, clutch depressed with steering wheel straight on flat ground but no budge. I think it may be due to a lack of use and possibly worn out components but am not entirely sure. Would love some feedback from anyone who as experienced the same or a similar issue and may have a fix for me or do i just take it to a mechanic.
    Cheers

    Will it go into 4wd?
If it will it shouldnt be too hard to get it into low.
Try a softer touch to go from 4wd, push down on the transfer case stick then go right and up.

Perhaps get it into 4wd and get the oil warm before trying to go into low also.

Try with the engine turned off, gearbox in neutral.
It is a firm push down, across and forward.
