If you are just wanting to disable the TC with a switch then you only earth the one end of the grey wire, the other one just tape it off and leave it tucked away.1994 NJ SWB, 3.5 Manual, 285/75/16 Deegan 38s MT, 25mm body lift, Twin ARB air lockers, XD9000 winch, custom bar.

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread and any silly questions, but I'm interested in this TC disable mod whereby the grey wire is cut and earthed to kill TC. My silly question is as follows.....when you activate (close) your switch, you are grounding the grey wire (plug side) and the TC, ABS and ASTC is deactivated...right? What about the other end of the wire you've said to just tape off? By having that wire no longer connected to anything, what does that do? I guess that would be the same as me getting in there and just snipping that grey wire and leaving it cut.....are you saying nothing is affected and the TC will only be killed when I earth the plug side of the grey? Look forward to some more clarity on this one folks. many thanks though....when I get to a point of being 100% clear, I'll be doing this for sure!

Yea it just does nothing, just tie it out of the way. Without the diff lock it did nothing anyway.1994 NJ SWB, 3.5 Manual, 285/75/16 Deegan 38s MT, 25mm body lift, Twin ARB air lockers, XD9000 winch, custom bar.

ASC is stability control. It relies on traction control. Disabling TC will disable ASC but disabling ASC won't disable TC.

OK, so when you select 4wd low , aSC goes off but TC stays on. So that means the OEM system uses some other method to disable ASC other than earthing out the circuit like suggested in these posts.NS shorty 3.8l petrol with winch, front/rear E-lockers
NT shorty 3.2l tdi, pretty stock with rear locker

I guess 98% of the time TC is actually very useful in Low Range so the engineers saw no need for the 2% of the time it was a hindrance

Since ASC has a factory system setup to disable it with the button on the dash, it would have been pretty simple to add a disable function to Law Range. Remember we are earthing the circuit to disable TC, as an addition it also disables ABS and ASCLast edited by NJV6; 29-11-18, 04:51 PM.1994 NJ SWB, 3.5 Manual, 285/75/16 Deegan 38s MT, 25mm body lift, Twin ARB air lockers, XD9000 winch, custom bar.
