Genuine fuel/oil filters v's non genuine.

On my JDM shorty diesel, the low fuel light is always on regardless if a full tank, half, quarter, etc. Also, the oil pressure light is on for up to 20 seconds on cold start and similar period on hot starts; oil level is perfect. I've recently purchased genuine Mitsubishi filters and fitted them, both those minor problems have gone away.

Definitely a coincidence on the fuel filter as the low fuel light and fuel level is done by the sender.

On the oil side, it *is* possible as the filter has an anti-drain-back valve built into it. Perhaps the aftermarket filter had a dodgy one or was built differently.

hard to know without a direct internal comparison of the OE and aftermarket filter.
