Default Driveline vibration``

Looking for ideas on where this is coming from..

In normal road driving there is no vibration when cruising but as soon as I let my foot off the gas there is a small vibration which appears to be coming from the undercarrige/driveline somehwere and goes thru the whole body

I was thinking maybe:
- Rear diff housing bearings?
- Drivershaft Ujoints?
- Gearbox?

:S

Cheers

I'd guess U-joints. I think you'd get more of a howl from bearings.

I would suggest gearbox mount, does the vibration get worse when reversing and does it match the revs of the engine? if the answers are yes I would suggest checking the gearbox mount, easy done with a torch under the car. If it is be ready for the cost +$200 not installed. Is very easy to replace though (just make sure you take notice of which way the old is facing)

The vibration which seems to go thru the whole vehicle is only there when coasting at 40klm hr or higher wether its in neutral or have the clutch pressed in.
Im thinking since it wasnt there when I bought it about 2 months ago and only started after a few pretty rough offroad trips it could be the mounts as it isnt exactly a new car I might just change the gearbox mounts and anything else thats not too expensive while im under there

Thanks for the suggestions I will see the parts dealer tomorrow and stry my luck.
Cheers

I will keep you updated.

I think you were right on the money Philthy, I purchased a new main gearbox mount and the small circular mount that limits gearbox rotation and it appears to have fixed the problem about 80%. I was also thinking of replacing the engine mounts to bring everything back into alignment plus some rear bushes

Large V6 Manual Gearbox mount new cost 40 bucks
Small side mount cost 30 bucks
Fitting Cost (as Im getting lazy 60 bucks

Back in business

Cheers fellas.
