    MN overheating

    Hi all.

Can you tell me what coolant temp your tritons usually operate at? Away with a mate whose MN is hitting 110 degrees with not much work. My Pajero doing the same driving is sitting on 80. No idea on history of cooling system servicing.

We are monitoring temps and taking it easy on the way home.

Edit - noticed it when the gauge went up and temp hit 120. Any MN specific cooling system issues. Seems ok on the freeway so could it be fan issue?

    Cheers,
    James

    Not normal!
If it is the 2.5 CRD engine then it is the same as the PB/PC Challenger so 82C to 95C is the normal working range, might spike to 115C on a hot day if working very hard.

Is it losing coolant out of the overflow bottle?
If so then this thread will explain the problem.

Thanks OJ. Ambient temp is mid 20s and no coolant loss - although on the big overheat it overfilled the bottle.

Has a 127kpa cap on the radiator.

We are heading back to Melb and he'll get it to his mechanic asap.

Was diagnosed as a radiator issue and new one fitted. Thanks all.
